Comprehensive Elder Caregiver Course
For Foreign Domestic Workers (FDW)

Learning Objective

To equip learners with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills necessary for providing holistic care to the elderly, focusing on understanding the anatomy and physiology of aging, managing chronic diseases prevalent in Singapore, implementing standard precautions and safety measures, delivering personalized care, and addressing the physical, psychological, and social needs of elderly patients, while ensuring respect for their dignity and preferences throughout the continuum of care.

Course Outline

We provide an in-depth learning experience that teaches caregivers to understand ageing body structure and how to implement elder caregiving skills into their practice.

 

Our knowledgeable instructors guide and support learners throughout the program, ensuring that they have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the best possible care to their clients/patients.

The training involves face-to-face, hands-on learning with light physical activities. Participants will learn practical skills related to:

  • Adult CPR + AED and Choking

Competency-Based Assessment
  • Theory and Practical
 
Assessment Methods
 
Oral/written tests, assignments and practical performance.
 
Certification
 
Upon completion of the course, the participants will be awarded a certificate endorsed by FAST and the following Embassies and High Commission:
 
  • Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Singapore
  • Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Singapore
  • Sri Lanka High Commission in Singapore
  • India High Commission in Singapore
 

Graduation Criteria
 
The criteria for graduation are based on learners’ attendance and assessment results.
 
Learners must meet the 75% attendance criteria to obtain a FAST-FDW subsidy, as well as complete and pass all assessments of the course before they can graduate and receive their Certificate.

*Note:

  1. To obtain subsidy, the learner must achieve at least 75% attendance and/or sit and pass any prescribed examination/assessments or submit any course/project work (if any) under the course requirement.

  2. We reserve the right to claw back the funded amount from the learner who did not meet the eligibility criteria.

  3. The registration deposit fee is $100/- (non-refundable). 

  4. Course fee are subject to other training related miscellaneous fees.

  5. Legend Training Centre reserves the right to postpone the course run if minimum enrolment is not met.
